Likely issued in conjunction with Bond Bread products in the late 1940s, these large (6-5/8” x 9-1/8”) premium photos are exactly the same as the famed 1947 Bond Bread card set – which includes the rookie card of Jackie Robinson who broke the MLB color barrier on April 15, 1947. Each of these large premium “cards” use the exact images as that 1947 Bond Bread set, and were likely given away by distributors or salesmen as incentive for store owners to stock their Bond Bread products. These paper premiums are very susceptible to wear, usually to the periphery. Each premium has a light horizontal crease, otherwise would have graded EX to EX/MT. Includes: Jackie Robinson (his rookie year premium! Also has a few small edge chips along left hand side), Johnny Mize, Pee Wee Reese, Bruce Edwards and Buddy Kerr. A great collection of these rarely seen premiums.
