Only a couple months before his passing, Babe Ruth donned the pinstripes for one last time on June 13th, 1948 before the Yankees and Cleveland Indians game. This offered 6 ¾ x 9-inch photograph was taken during the pre-game ceremonies honoring the 1923 New York Yankees and the 25th Anniversary of Yankee Stadium and the retiring of Babe Ruth’s historic number “3”. Holding Bob Feller’s bat, Ruth is shown just outside of the visiting Cleveland Indians dugout already tipping his cap to the adoring fans and the star-struck Cleveland Indians players. This photograph was used following Ruth’s passing as evidence on the article attached to the back of the photograph. The photograph is in fair condition with a white tear spot above Ruth’s head and brown discoloration spots surrounding Ruth’s head and cap. This photograph has been authenticated by Beckett Grading Services (0008196516) and encapsulated in a 9 ½ x 13-inch holder.
