Featured is a black and white photograph of Jackie Robinson signing autographs. The first African American to play in Major League Baseball, Robinson broke the color barrier after he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson was Rookie of the Year in 1947, a six-time All-star, and a 1955 World Series Champion. His number “42” has been universally retired across Major League Baseball, and his name continues to be celebrated by baseball every April 15th as “Jackie Robinson Day”. This black and white photograph is a Type III and was issued by the Associated Press in 1949. This photo measures 8 x 10 inches and comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA, who have classified this photo as a Type III (1P06925).
