Hall of Famer Bill Sharman played from 1950-1961 with the Washington Capitols and Boston Celtics where he was a 4-time NBA Champion with the Celtics. Sharman was an 8-time NBA All-Star and the 1955 NBA All-Star Game MVP. Sharman was a 4-time All-NBA First Team selection and was selected to the NBA’s 25th and 50th Anniversary All-Time Teams. Sharman was a tremendous athlete who not only played a dozen years in the NBA, but also played six seasons in the minor leagues as a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Although he was brought up to the Major League team, Sharman did not get into a game. After his collegiate career at the University of Southern California, where he played basketball and baseball, Sharman was selected in the second round of the 1950 draft by the Capitols, one of the original NBA franchises – playing only the one season until they folded. It was his time in Boston where Sharman made his mark, not only individually as a player, but being a key player in setting up the dominant run of NBA titles for the Boston Celtics franchise.

Offered here is a game used Boston Celtics road jersey worn by Bill Sharman during his career with the Celtics and been dated circa 1950 to 1960 by the game used experts at MEARS based on the tagging. This green jersey is made of durene and has “BOSTON” and “21” sewn on the front in white tackle twill. The Horace Partridge Athletic Goods size 42 tag is sewn on the inside front center tail. The open sleeves and collar are line with white/green/white stripes. The back of the jersey has Sharman’s number “21” sewn on in white tackle twill. A great gamer from one of the early Boston Celtics’ greats and this jersey displays heavy game use with a team repair between the “B” and “O” on the front. The tackle twill lettering and numbers also display puckering with some loose threads. This comes with a LOA from MEARS (316218), who have given this jersey the highest possible grade of A10.
