The Hall of Fame catcher Roy Campanella has signed and inscribed this 8 x 10-inch photograph. Campanella, one of the best catchers in baseball history, won three National League MVP trophies in a his nine-season career. The eight-time All-Star was a key member of the Dodgers 1955 World Series title team, hitting two homers in the World Series after claiming the 1955 National League MVP award. This photograph was signed before Campanella’s tragic accident that left the Hall of Famer partially paralyzed and is in very good condition. The photograph shows Campanella throwing his catcher’s mask off while fielding a foul pop up. He has signed this photograph in black steel-tip fountain pen, inscribing “Congratulations to Dick Ruess on his thirteenth birthday / Sincerely, Roy Campanella”. This photograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA (BB12031).
