This Casey Stengel ceramic player tile once hung outside the Yankee player locker room for years before they were removed during the original Stadium’s renovation in the 1970s. Framed to a dimension of 18.5 x 38.25 inches, the visible area of the tile measures 10.5 x 31 inches.

Text states, “Casey Stengel. With the Yankees 1949-60. After he gets through talking you may have some questions about what he said but there can be no doubt concerning the authority with which he speaks. In his 12 years with the Yankees, Casey won no less than 10 pennants and seven World Championships, five of them consecutive.” The tile has various areas of cracks, similar to the fine crazing which occurs on vintage porcelain. In addition, there are small sections missing from the two left corners. From the words and dating on this piece, it appears this tile was likely created for or right about when Stengel left the Yankees after the 1960 season. This is a one-of-a-kind Casey Stengel display piece which once hung outside the Yankee player locker room in the original Yankee Stadium.
