Graded 55 VG/EX+ 4.5 by SGC. Hall of Famer, and a scarcer "High Number" entry. Mickey Mantle's "true" rookie gum card is presented. This '51's color is bold and clear, with solid focus in the image. The offered card displays virtually none of the vertical print streaking that's often seen in cards from the 1951 Bowman series. The well-inked reverse exhibits a mild degree of toning that complements the piece's vintage character, and it displays routine wax shading from its original wrapper. All four corners are nicely shaped, with acceptable touches of clean wear, and centering is aligned slightly toward the right. The appealing piece delivers tremendous color and print. This is a bright, enticing copy of one of the 1950's era's most desirable baseball cards. Very Good to Excellent-plus condition.
