Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in his second Topps gum card appearance. Among more than 4,200 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just fifteen examples (fewer than one-half of one percent) have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. This is an extremely handsome specimen of one of the legend's most fulsomely attractive Topps cards. Its very sensitive, solid red corner at the lower left is intact and bright, and the other corners reveal virtually no wear. The colors are still as rich as the day the card was printed, and the item's borders have retained their original whiteness. Finally, Mantle's facial tones are fundamentally ideal. Aesthetically profound Near Mint to Mint condition.
