In 1953, the New York Yankees did the unthinkable - won their fifth consecutive World Championship. To commemorate this momentous moment in baseball history, the team’s catcher and field manager, Yogi Berra, was presented with this silver commemorative plate. The silver plated plate is 13 inches in diameter and one inch in depth. The plate has a baseball motif with the Yankees hat and bat logo in the sweet spot surrounded by the years of their five World Championships. The rest of the plate is covered by engraved signatures of the 1953 edition of this historic dynasty including Mickey Mantle, Ralph Houk, Allie Reynolds, Johnny Mize and of course, their field captain, Yogi Berra. The plate shows slight wear from age with a few light scuffs, but displays beautifully. The plate comes with a full LOA from Steiner for its Yogi Berra Estate provenance.
