Despite a solid 92-62 record, the Brooklyn Dodgers finished five games behind their crosstown rivals, the New York Giants for the National League pennant. The 1954 season was the first under Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston, who would go on to lead the Dodgers franchise to four World Series titles, including the only title in Brooklyn in the following season of 1955.

Offered here is a Spalding baseball signed by 25 members of the 1954 Brooklyn Dodgers. What makes this ball special is Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson signing this orb twice. Robinson’s signatures are on the north and east panels. On the north panel, besides Robinson are the signatures of Bob Milliken, Hall of Famer Walter Alston, Don Hoak, Preacher Roe and the clubhouse signatures of Sandy Amoros and Billy Cox. The east panel, with Robinson’s other signature, has Johnny Podres, Ben wade and Wayne Belardi. The south panel has the signatures of Jim Giliam, Hall of Famer Roy Campanella, Don Newcombe, Pete Wojey, Rube Walker and the clubhouse signatures Carl Furillo and Tim Thompson. The west panel has the signatures of Joe Black, Carl Erskine, Erv Palica, Clem Labine and George Shuba. The sweet spot panel has the clubhouse signatures of Pee Wee Reese and Duke Snider. All of the signatures have been signed in blue ballpoint pen and the ball displays minor toning. The signatures are clear and this multi-signed baseball comes with a LOA from JSA (Z61331).
