The 1954 Milwaukee Braves ushered in a brand new star with 20 year old outfielder Henry Aaron, just two seasons after they brought up slugging third baseman Eddie Mathews. This tandem led the way to back-to-back World Series appearances for the Braves in 1957 and 1958. This Spalding ONL Giles ball contains 26 bold ink signatures, and is preserved with a moderate coating of shellac. Includes: Charlie Grimm and Bucky Walters (both on sweet spot), Hank Aaron ("7"), Charlie White, Billy Bruton, Danny O'Connell, Roy Smalley, Ed Mathews ("6"), Jack Dittmer, Andy Pafko, Joe Jay, Bob Buhl, Del Crandall, Dave Koslo, John Logan, Chet Nichols, Bobby Thomson, Jim Wilson, Gene Conley, Bob Keely, Warren Spahn ("7"), Dave Jolly, Ernie Johnson, Jim Pendleton, Sam Calderone and Joe Adcock. Most are bold ink signatures ("7-9"), but a few scrapes around the ball have chipped some including the Mathews and to a lighter extent, the Aaron. Still this ball displays well with bold signatures, dark stampings and of course, the rookie year Hank Aaron signature. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number T05574.
