Presented here is Preacher Roe’s signed uniform player’s trade assignment from his 1954 trade from the Brooklyn Dodgers to the Baltimore Orioles. The venerable spitballer, approaching his 40^th year, retired rather than play for the Orioles, forfeiting the $25,000 per year salary offered by the American League club. Roe has signed this contract with his full name, “Edwin C. Roe”, in black pen. Other signatures include Warren Giles and Buzzie Bavasi, who have each signed twice.
