In 1956 the Milwaukee Braves came within one game of unseating the Brooklyn Dodgers for the pennant. The Braves featured two of the best pitchers in the game, Warren Spahn and Lew Burdette, plus a hard-hitting lineup that included Hank Aaron, Eddie Mathews and Joe Adcock – the three combining for 101 home runs that summer. This was the same team that would succeed in overtaking Brooklyn the next year and win back-to-back pennants and a World Championship.

28 members of the 1956 Milwaukee Braves have signed this Official National League Warren Giles stamped baseball in blue pen. Manager Charlie Grimm signed his name on the sweet spot. The east panel has the signatures of Hall of Famers Warren Spahn and Hank Aaron, along with Red Murff, Andy Pafko, Wes Covington, Ray Crone and Bobby Thomson. The west panel with the Spalding stamp has the signatures of Hall of Famer Eddie Mathews, Del Crandall, Chet Nichols, Del Rice and Bob Roselli. The north panel has the signatures of Lou Sleater, Jack Dittmer, Danny O’Connell, Ernie Johnson, Dave Jolly, Chuck Tanner, Fred Haney and Frank Torre. The south panel has the signatures of Johnny Logan, Bob Keely, John Edelman, Charlie Root, Billy Bruton, Jim Pendleton and Joe Adcock. This ball is in excellent condition, displaying only minor toning and it comes with a LOA from JSA (Z24506).
