Graded Gem Mint 9.5 by GAI. Hall of Famer. Mickey Mantle turned in one of the finest-ever, single-season performances by any player in 1956, winning the Triple Crown and the American League MVP Award. He carried his Yankees to the World Championship, thus denying the Brooklyn Dodgers back-to-back honors. Mantle's homers in World Series Games 1, 4, and 5 single-handedly crushed the Dodgers' hopes. Certainly, Don Larsen would attest to Mantle's greatness, and Larsen's Game 5 perfect performance was made easier by Mantle's game-winning solo home run. GAI has bestowed its lofty Gem Mint assessment upon this trading card. (It should be noted that the grading standards followed by GAI may not directly correspond to those employed by BGS, PSA or SGC. The outcome of a cross-over of this exceptional piece through any of those other third-party services, then, would be uncertain.) The offered card boasts fantastic centering, brilliant colors and incredibly sharp, pristine corners to complement an impeccable overall aesthetic. Gem Mint condition.
