Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Among more than 3,600 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, just twenty-four examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. The 1956 season was Jackie's last with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and ultimately, his last in the major leagues. At the close of the '56 season, the Dodgers traded Robinson, but he chose to retire instead of reporting to the rival Giants. This rendering from 1956 therefore represents his last contemporary appearance on a standard card. The piece is a well-centered treasure that features magnificent images of the star athlete. Its borders reflect soothing white and its illustration's colors are stellar. All four corners are abundantly crisp with only the merest hints of wear evident at the extreme tips. Near Mint to Mint condition.
