By 1957, it was almost a given that when World Series time came around, the New York Yankees would be in it. In 1957, the Yankees won their 23rd American League pennant, finishing a healthy eight games in front of the White Sox. The team was the perfect blend of veterans like Yogi Berra and Enos Slaughter, youngsters Elston Howard and Bill Skowron and, of course, Mickey Mantle who was in the prime of his career and won his second consecutive American League MVP Award.

Offered is this baseball has 31 signatures from the 1957 American League Champion New York Yankees, with some of the players signing twice. All of the signatures have been signed in blue pen during spring training. The signatures on the east panel include Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, Bobby Shantz, Art Ditmer, Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle, Bobby Richardson (signed Bob Richardson), Hall of Famer Casey Stengel and Tony Kubek. The west panel has the signatures of Woodie Held, Jim DePalo, Jerry Lumpe, Jerry Coleman, Dick Sanders and Norm Siebern.

The signatures of Ralph Terry, Bobby Richardson (signed Bob Richardson) and an unidentified player are on one sweet spot. The other sweet spot has the signature of Andy Carey. The north panel has the signatures of Dick Sanders, Johnny Kucks, Hall of Famer Enos Slaughter, Marv Throneberry, Bob Marty and Elston Howard. The south panel has the signatures of Gil McDougald, Ralph Terry, Billy Martin, Hall of Famer Bill Dickey, Don Larsen, Andy Carey (second signature) and Hall of Famer White Ford. The ball displays toning and has some stains. The signatures are all solid and this baseball comes with a LOA from JSA (Z07254).
