1957 marked the last time the Detroit Lions won the NFL Championship. The Lions are one of four franchises to have never made a Super Bowl appearance (Browns, Texans and Jaguars) and hold the second longest title drought in the NFL behind the Cardinals.

In the second to last game of the 1957 season, Hall of Fame quarterback broke his leg against the Cleveland Browns and the Lions had to rely on backup QB Tobin Rote to carry the team. Tote did his part as he and the Lions finished the regular season with an 8-4 record and had to travel to San Francisco for the Western Division tiebreaker. After trailing 24-0, the Lions stormed back to win 31-27 and advanced to the NFL Championship Game where they handily defeated the Cleveland Browns 59-14.

Presented is this very rare 1957 Detroit Lions NFL Champions ring from that historic Detroit team. The gold ring weighs approximately 23 grams and is a size 10. Each shank has two raised roaring lions. The center of the ring has a real diamond centered in a raised football shape with “DETROIT LIONS” in a triangle shape on top and “WORLD CHAMPS” in a triangle shape below. The ring is in good shape, only displaying normal wear given its age and comes with a 1995 purchase LOA.
