Among nearly 8,200 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just about one-third of one percent have been placed at this admirable, unqualified tier, and not a single example has been graded higher. This piece captures the great Yankee outfielder in his prime, and is a more-than-worthy commemorative in tribute of the incomparable Mantle. The card presents beautifully, with remarkable intensity of printing on both front and back sides. Exceptionally vivid interpretation of color on the horizontally oriented cardfront is complemented by incredibly bright white borders and an overall pack-fresh appearance. The item is extremely well centered for the issue, and its deeply shaded, glossy portrait of the Hall of Famer sparkles with clarity. The visual aesthetic of this brilliantly rendered card is nearly unimprovable. Mint condition.
