Former pitcher Ed Rakow pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Athletics, Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves for seven seasons. For three of those seasons, Rakow pitched in Kansas City where he compiled a 25-35 record with a 4.26 ERA.

Offered is this home white pinstripe Kansas City Athletics jersey that Rakow wore during the 1961 season, his first with the ballclub. This Wilson size 42 jersey has taken on an off-white color and has blue pinstripes. The front of the jersey has an “A” sewn on in Athletics’ font in navy blue and red tackle twill on the upper left chest. The number “52” is sewn on the back of the jersey and left sleeve in navy blue and red tackle twill. The Wilson tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail and “No. 35 Set 1-61” is embroidered in black below the Wilson tag. Rakow wore number 35 during the 1961 season and it’s most likely that this jersey was worn by him during spring training in 1962. This jersey shows moderate use and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
