Presented here is a check for the “Collegiate Council for [the] United Nations” signed by National Baseball Hall of Fame member Jackie Robinson. The first African-American man to play in the Major Leagues, as well as the first Rookie of the Year, the impact of Jackie Robinson is still felt on diamonds across America today. An ardent supporter of numerous student movements, Robinson would frequently assist students with tuition and fees related to their education. This check, dated to August 11th, 1964, is for the value of $300.00. It has been signed in blue pen by Robinson and Marian Logan, a cabaret singer, Civil Rights activist, and good friend of Robinson. This check is in good condition, save for various cancellation hole punches that do not influence the quality of the signature. This item has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (83963254)
