In 1963, the Boston Celtics won their sixth consecutive NBA championship. This incredible streak would encompass eight consecutive championship seasons thanks to players like Bill Russell and 1962 first round draft pick John Havlicek.

The 1962-63 Celtics finished 58-22, the best record in the Eastern Division. They faced the Los Angeles Lakers, led by the two-headed monster of Elgin Baylor and Jerry West, in the NBA Finals. Regular season MVP Bill Russell averaged an incredible 20 points, 26 rebounds, and five assists per game in the Finals to lead the Celtics to victory in a tense six games. Nine members of this Celtic team would later be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

This basketball has been signed by 13 members of the 1962-63 Celtics, including Hall of Famers Bob Cousy, Bill Russell, John Havlicek, Frank Ramsey, Tom Heinsohn, Sam Jones, Tom Sanders, Clyde Lovellette, K.C. Jones, and coach Red Auerbach. Other signatures include Jim Loscutoff, Gene Guarilia, and Dan Swartz. The signatures are written in black marker, with Russell adding “581/1000” to his signature, noting the limited edition nature of this ball. This basketball comes with a LOA from JSA (Y43481).
