     Presented is a First Day of Issue envelope signed and inscribed by the late astronaut Edgar Mitchell. A NASA astronaut, Mitchell is among the few people to have ever walked on the surface of the moon. He was a Lunar Module Pilot during the Apollo 14 mission, where he is most remembered from. The envelope featured has a small depiction of a desert on the left and reads: NEW MEXICO statehood 1912 – 1962. On the back of the envelope, Mitchell has inscribed “Flown to the Lunar Surface aboard Antaras – February 1971”, and under has signed his name in bold black ink. This item has been pre-certified by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
