Hall of Famer Gaylord Perry made his Major League debut in 1962 where he started seven games and finished with a 3-1 record and a 5.23 ERA. Perry would end up with 314 wins during his 22-year career and was enshrined in Cooperstown in 1991.

Offered is this gray flannel MacGregor button-down road jersey worn by Perry during his 1962 rookie season. As customary with Major League teams in the 1960s, jerseys were often recycled to their respective minor league teams. After Perry wore this jersey, it was then transferred to the AA Springfield (MA) Giants for use. This jersey shows moderate game use with soil and sweat stains. “SPRINGFIELD” is sewn on across the front in black and orange appliqué with Perry’s number “28” sewn on the back in black and orange. The interior appliqué of “SPRINGFIELD” is different than the original number “28” on the back. The sleeves have an orange/black/orange piping pattern a ½ inch off the sleeve ends. The same orange/black/orange piping surround the collar only with the green MacGregor size 46 tag sewn on the inside back neck. Below the MacGregor tag is a ¾ x 2 inch white felt swatch with “Perry” embroidered in red. This jersey comes with a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
