Coming off a spectacular 1961 season in which he hit a National League high 46 home runs and 142 RBI, Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda continued his excellence in 1962, as he led the San Francisco Giants to the National League Pennant. Cepeda made his fourth consecutive All-Star appearance in only his fifth season and finished the year with 35 home runs and 114 RBI, while batting a solid .306.

Offered is this gray flannel MacGregor button-down road jersey worn by Cepeda during the 1962 season. As customary with Major League teams in the 1960s, jerseys were often recycled to their respective minor league teams. After Cepeda wore this jersey, it was then transferred to the AA Springfield (MA) Giants for use. This jersey shows moderate game use with soil and sweat stains. “SPRINGFIELD” is sewn on across the front in black and orange appliqué with Cepeda’s number “30” sewn on the back in black and orange. The interior appliqué of “SPRINGFIELD” is different than the original number “30” on the back. The sleeves have a orange/black/orange piping pattern a ½ inch off the sleeve ends. The same orange/black/orange piping surround the collar only with the green MacGregor size 44 tag sewn on the inside back neck. Below the MacGregor tag is a ¾ x 2 inch white felt swatch with “Cepeda” embroidered in red. This jersey comes with a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
