Presented in this lot are a trio of Philadelphia 76ers ticket stubs from 1963 and 1967 from games featuring Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain. Wilton Norman Chamberlain redefined scholastic hoops in Philadelphia as center for Overbrook High School. The University of Kansas recruited him and he earned “Final Four Outstanding Player” honors for the 1957 NCAA Tournament. Drafted by the Philadelphia Warriors in 1959, “Wilt the Stilt” would spend a 15-year NBA career redefining the role of center while winning a championship with the 1967 76ers.
The first presented item in this lot is a ticket stub from the Sixers’ December 26th, 1963 game against the San Francisco Warriors. Chamberlain would drain 49 points and pull down 13 rebounds for the Warriors during the Sixers’ 118-112 victory over the Warriors at the Civic Center-Convention Hall in Philadelphia. The pink ticket stub features the seating information at the top of the stub, with the location and date of the game on the midsection. The ticket stub comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (43416495) who graded the ticket AUTHENTIC.
The second item is a ticket stub from the Sixers’ March 11th, 1967 game against the Boston Celtics at the Civic Center-Convention Hall in Philadelphia. The Sixers would fall to the Celtics 116-114. The pink stub features the seating location at the top of the stub, with the location and date of the game on the midsection. The stub comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (18684528) who also graded the ticket VG 3.
The final item is a ticket stub from the Sixers’ March 2nd, 1967 136-128 victory over the San Francisco Warriors. Chamberlain pulled down 38 rebounds during the game during the same season that saw the 7-foot center lead the league in rebounds while aiding the Sixers to their first NBA title in Philadelphia. The ticket stub, from the Civic Center-Convention Hall, is pink and features the seating location at the top and the date and location on the midsection. The ticket comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (18684524) who also graded the ticket a VG 3.
