Offered is an original full ticket from the World Heavyweight Championship bout between champion Sonny Liston and the challenger Floyd Patterson that was supposed to be held at Miami Beach’s Convention Hall on April 4, 1963. This fight was then re-scheduled to April 10th, 1963 due to an injured left knee of Liston. However, Liston’s knee was still an issue and the fight was pushed back to June 27th and the venue changed to Las Vegas. For a third time, the fight was postponed as Patterson had a benign tumor removed from his knuckle on his right hand. The fight eventually took place on July 22, 1963 in Las Vegas. Liston would retain his title with a first round knockout of Patterson. This $20.00 face value 2 ½ x 6 inch blue ticket with red and black lettering comes from the July 22nd event and is encapsulated by PSA/DNA (21472524) and has been given a grade of “NM 7”.
