No player in NFL history has intercepted more passes than Paul Krause, a ball-hawking safety who hunted wide receivers for 16 NFL seasons. A second round draft pick out of the University of Iowa in 1963, Krause played his first four seasons for the Washington Redskins before joining the Minnesota Vikings for the final 12 seasons of his career. Krause intercepted 81 passes in his career, including a career-high of 12 in his rookie campaign in 1964. Krause, who retired in 1979, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
This contract, printed on yellow paper, has been signed by both Paul Krause, as “Paul James Krause”, and by Ted Marchibroda. The contract is dated to December 2nd, 1963, by both signers, and it has been signed in black pen. Numerous sections are handwritten, including a lengthy paragraph on the back side of this contract.
