Graded FR 1.5 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Fewer than fifty examples of this collectible have been validated by PSA. Here's an almost impossibly rare, overseas-issue Mickey Mantle collectible. Against all odds, this visually engaging, career-contemporary Mantle item, printed by Topps in the United States but distributed only in the South American nation of Venezuela (where Major League Baseball has long enjoyed wide popularity) survived to enter the present-day hobby. Although the item's obverse design is virtually identical to a "standard" '64 Topps Mantle's, its coarser cardstock affords the built-in perishability that affects essentially all of the very few Venezuela Topps cards that have reached U.S. enthusiasts' hands. The offered piece displays a clear, vibrant image, and the reverse side exhibits black ink that confirms the card's origin. Amber-colored adhesive residue from vintage clear tape can be seen on the cardfront's corners. A very desirable specialty piece, in satisfying Fair condition.
