From the beginning of Mickey Mantle’s career to the final World Series season of 1964, whichever consecutive 10-year period you wanted to choose, Mickey Mantle would have been the Player of the Decade. In fact, Mantle was voted Baseball Player of the Decade by the Touchdown Club of Columbus, OH, and for this distinction, Mantle was presented with this very fine three-piece cutlery set of two carving knives and long carving fork all housed in a 5.75 x 16.25 inch presentation box with gold plaque. While not actually used by Mickey, the three-piece Stainless Steel set retains all the luster and perfection as when it was made. In fact, the warranty card is still included, and if the winner of this lot acts quick enough maybe you can get your name in for the record keepers at Carvel Hall Cutlery!

The box exhibits small amounts of scratches, scrapes and dings, about what you would expect with decades of handling. While not used, this item was likely prominently displayed in the Mantle household for many years. Consigned directly by the Mantle family, and comes with a full LOA signed by Mickey’s wife Merlyn plus David and Danny Mantle.
