Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium (originally Atlanta Stadium) opened on April 9, 1965 for an exhibition game between the Milwaukee Braves and Detroit Tigers. On April 12, 1966 the relocated Braves played their first game in their new home in front of 51,500 fans. The $18 million grass surface stadium was also host to the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons from 1966 to 1991. Closed for good on October 24, 1996, the stadium was demolished on August 2, 1997. Presented here is a 1965-1996 Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium seat, consisting of hard plastic with a metal frame. This seat, marked with the number “12”, is functional and includes the base. Obvious use is displayed by this item, which measures approximately 33 inches tall x 22 inches wide.
