Spring Premium Live and Catalog Auction 2018 Closing May 5

As one of the most feared hitters of his era, Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew was the catalyst behind the successful Minnesota Twins of the 1960s. By 1966, the 30-year-old Killebrew was hitting his prime and hitting American League pitching to the tune of 39 home runs and 110 RBI in what would be his sixth all-star selection.
Offered here is the road jersey worn by Killebrew during the 1966 season in which the Twins finished with an 89-73 record. The button-down size 44 Spalding jersey has “Twins” and a paraph sewn on in navy blue and red tackle twill across the chest. Killebrew’s number “3”, which has been retired by the Twins, is sewn on the back of the jersey in navy blue and red tackle twill. The number itself has been restored using a vintage number and there’s evidence that other numbers have been removed. The left sleeve has the 1960s’ style logo patch with the two players shaking hands symbolizing Minneapolis and St. Paul. On the inside back collar is an off-white swatch with “Killebrew” embroidered in blue. The Spalding tag and “44” tag are sewn on the lower front left tail, while embroidered below the tags in blue are “Killebrew 3” and “44 66”. The jersey displays moderate use and is faded in some areas. Killebrew signed this jersey in black marker above the “T” on the front of the jersey and inscribed “Best Wishes”. This item comes with a LOA from Sports Investors for the game use and a JSA Auction Letter for the signature.
