Mickey Mantle’s outstanding career reached another level on May 14, 1967, when he connected for his 500th home run vs. the Baltimore Orioles. By sheer coincidence, that date also happened to be Mother’s Day, 1967, and the Yankees handed out this Mother’s Day Medallion to commemorate the holiday. This gold-colored medallion, manufactured by Balfour, measures approx. 1¼” in diameter, and comes with the original case (which reads “Greetings from the Yankees”) and box (which reads “Greetings from the New York Yankees”).
