At the end of the 1968 season it looked as if a ruptured hamstring would put an end to the career of the Twins’ superstar. Defying the odds, The Killer not only came back in 1969, but he made it the best year of his career. Leading the AL in home runs, RBI and on-base percentage, Killebrew won the MVP Award and led the Twins to the AL Western Division title. It was the crowning achievement of a 22-year career that would take Killebrew all the way to Cooperstown. The Killer’s Louisville Slugger S207 is uncracked and shows moderate game use. There is checking on the barrel along with several ball and stitch marks. The remains of a light coat of pine tar can be seen on the handle. Killebrew’s model number S207 is stamped into the knob end. The ash wood has taken on a warm tone over the years and the Hillerich & Bradsby and Killebrew facsimile signature stamping looks dark and strong. A very fine looking piece of lumber from the first Minnesota Twin enshrined in the Hall of Fame. PSA/DNA sticker number 1B05838 is affixed to the barrel end. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
