Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was awarded this letterman’s jacket during his freshman season with the UCLA Bruins, in 1965-66. Abdul-Jabbar, known in college as Lew Alcindor, was one of the greatest college basketball players in the history of the sport, winning three straight NCAA titles and Final Four MOP Awards during his time in Westwood. This offered black wool button-down jacket has “UCLA” and “69” embroidered on the upper left chest in yellow chenille stitching. The waist pockets are accented with a soft gold color, with the lining of the jacket made of the same color material. This jacket is in good condition and is an extremely rare piece. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
