The 1972 New York Yankees finished in fourth place by 6 ½ games to the Detroit Tigers in the American League Eastern Division with a 79-76 record. 22 members of the 1972 team have signed this Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball in black and green pen.
This off-white baseball is in excellent condition with the blue stampings in good condition and displaying nicely. Featured on this baseball is the signature of Thurman Munson, who signed his name on the panel adjacent to the sweet spot. His signature is in the middle below Rusty Torres and Celerino Sanches and above Gene Michael (green), the clubhouse version of Ron Blomberg and Casey Cox. The sweet spot contains clubhouse signatures of Mel Stottlemyre and Bobby Murcer, with the signing of Fritz Peterson between those two. A side panel has the signatures of Felipe Alou, Horace Clarke, Lindy McDaniel, Johnny Callison and Jerry Kenney. The panel with the blue “REACH” stamp has Fred Beene, Frank Tepedino and Ron Klimkowski (green).The last panel has Bernie Allen, Larry Gowell, the clubhouse version of Ralph Houk, Steve Kline and Ron Swoboda. This multi-signed baseball comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AA07793).
