Right-handed pitcher Sonny Siebert went 12-12 with the Boston Red Sox during the 1972 season and posted a respectable 3.80 ERA. Siebert wore this size 44 road gray Red Sox pullover jersey during the 1972 season. This jersey features “BOSTON” in Tuscan font sewn on across the chest in red and navy tackle twill. This jersey was manufactured by McAuliffe Uniform Corp of Brockton, Massachusetts and the manufacturer’s tag, along with “1972” and “44” tags are sewn on the bottom front center tail. Siebert’s number “42” is sewn on the back in McAuliffe font in red and navy tackle twill. The collar has a red/navy/red pattern. Siebert has signed his name vertically on the upper right chest. This jersey displays moderate to heavy use with most of the jersey displaying some fading. There are also ink stains on the bottom center right front. The stitching on the letters and numbers also display fading with some of the tackle twill on the back of the jersey having the threading loose. These 70's knits are getting tougher and tougher to get for the popular franchises, like the Red Sox. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
