Oakland Athletics slugger Gene Tenace wore this white A’s home jersey during the 1974 MLB season. Tenace, the 1972 World Series MVP, hit 26 home runs with 73 RBI and an American League leading 110 walks. Tenace helped lead the dynastic A’s to their third consecutive World Series title in 1974, defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in a deceptively close five game series where all but one game finished with a score of 3-2.
This white pullover jersey has “A’s” sewn on the left chest in yellow and green tackle twill. Tenace’s number “18” is sewn on the back of the jersey in yellow and green tackle twill. “TENACE” is sewn across the back shoulders in green tackle twill. Please note that Tenace’s name has been restored. The sleeves are accented with green and yellow stripes, and a green-yellow-green band accents the collar. “1974”, size “42”, McAuliffe, and washing instruction tags are sewn on the inside front tail of this jersey. This jersey shows moderate wear and comes with a LOA from MEARS, who have graded it an excellent A9.
