Everything about the old ABA was colorful - from the player nicknames and the seat-of-their-pants ownership, right down to the uniforms - and this set from the '74 All-Star Game is no exception. This white sand knit uniform set is liberally trimmed in patriotic red, white and blue. The front of the jersey has "ABA" and "EAST" in red, white and blue tackle twill. Number "24" indicates it was worn by Carolina Cougars point guard Ted "Hound Dog" McClain. McClain played 25 minutes of the game and scored 12 points along with 2 steals, 4 assists and 3 rebounds. The arm and neck openings are ringed in red and white and the back has "McClain" and "24" in blue tackle twill. The Rawlings size "42" tagging is sewn in the lower right front tail. The jersey shows good game use with some light staining found throughout. The lettering has some loose threads and slight puckering with age. The matching shorts feature red and blue trim on a white sand knit body. "ABA" defends down the right thigh in red, white and blue tackle twill and white stars decent down the left. Rawlings size "34" tagging is sewn inside the elastic waist band. The shorts show good game use with slight stains found throughout and the tackle twill graphics show the expected puckering that comes with age. Both pieces display beautifully with the colors bold and bright - hands down one of the most perfect uniform sets from the ABA's glory years. Comes with Letter of authenticity from Ted McCLain.
