With a nickname like “Gluefingers”, it’s no wonder that Dante Lavelli led the league in both receptions and receiving yards in just his rookie year with the Cleveland Browns in 1946. Lavelli would play for the Browns in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) and later the National Football League (NFL) from 1946 to 1956. He helped lead the Browns to league championships an amazing seven times, including five straight seasons, from 1946-50, and then again in 1954 and 1955. Honoring has stellar career, Lavelli was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1975.
Offered here is Lavelli’s 1975 Hall of Fame Induction ring. This Balfour 10K piece boasts an attractive blue stone in its center, with an image of a helmeted football player’s head. The perimeter of the ring displays “PRO FOOTBALL’S HALL OF FAME” in relief lettering. Appearing on the left shank is an image of the Pro Football Hall of Fame as well as a crest that reads “HALL OF FAME CANTON”. Lavelli’s position, “END”, is listed above. The other side of the ring displays the name “DANTE LAVELLI” above an image of three football players in action. Below the image appears “ELECTED 1975”.
