Thurman Munson was one of baseball’s premier catchers in the 1970’s, a skilled hitter and adept catcher who led the New York Yankees back to their accustomed dominance. Munson made seven All-Star teams in his career and won the 1976 American League MVP award in a landslide over George Brett. Offered here is an Adirondack Big Stick Flame Treated Thurman Munson model bat presented to the catcher to commemorate his appearance in the 1976 All-Star Game. A plaque that reads “To Commemorate the 1976 All Star Game Veterans Stadium Philadelphia, PA. July 13, 1976 Centennial Year” is affixed to the barrel. This bat is in good condition and is a stirring memento from one of baseball’s most tragic figures.
