One of the most thrilling and steady players of the 1960’s and 1970’s, Pete Rose consistently led the National League in hits as he climbed the ladder to Ty Cobb’s career hits record. The face of Cincinnati’s “Big Red Machine”, Rose hit a combined .315 with 610 hits during the 1977-79 seasons this bat dates to. Pete’s Hillerich & Bradsby R195 model bat is un-cracked and shows excellent use. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are visible on the barrel along with black ink transfers and cleat imprints on the left and back barrel. Red bat rack paint streaks are present and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. As is common on Rose gamers from this period, the finish has been removed from the right and left barrel. Rose’s immortal number “14” has been handwritten on the knob and The Hit King has signed the barrel in bold black marker. A textbook Pete Rose gamer from the very height of the Big Red Machine era. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B05313) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5 and a COA from Pete Rose for the game use and signature.
