Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders impresario, visionary, and icon Al Davis has signed this offered check. One of the most important men in the history of football, Davis was the Raiders head coach, general manager, and owner, as well as the maverick commissioner of the AFL. His legacy is unimpeachable, and extends even beyond the football field. Davis hired both the first African-American head coach in NFL history, as well as the first female chief executive. In 1992, Davis was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This check is from the Oakland Raiders, and is paid to “The Daily Review” in Hayward, California.
