Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter wore this powder-blue Montreal Expos road jersey during the 1977 MLB season. This was Carter’s breakout year, as the 23-year-old set new career highs in home runs (31), RBI (84), and batting average (.284). Carter played 12 seasons for the Expos, reaching seven All-Star Games and hitting 220 of his 324 career homers with the Canadian club.
This button down jersey has the Expos logo sewn on the left chest area, and Carter’s number “8” sewn on the right chest and back in blue and white tackle twill. The sleeves are ringed in red, white, and blue accents, and a Wilson size “44” tag is sewn in the back inside collar. A “77 1” tag is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Carter signed the front left tail of the jersey in slightly toned black marker. This item, which shows light evidence of use, comes with a LOA from JSA for the signature and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for game use.
