Offered here is a beautiful 1977 New York Mets Old Timers Day gold pocket watch which was presented to Nelson Burbrink. After a brief Major League career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Burbrink became a scout for the Cardinals and the Mets. He would later serve as the Mets scouting director from 1968-72 and director of player development from 1973-78. This Swiss made pocket watch includes a Mets script logo on the face while also reading “17 JEWELS INCABLOC”. The back is engraved “OLD TIMERS DAY SHEA STADIUM NEW YORK 1977” while the outside casing features the initials “NB”. This item weighs approximately 77.1 grams. This item originates from the collection of former Major Leaguer and scout Nelson Burbrink. This comes with a letter of provenance from the Burbrink Family.
