It was the dawn of a new age in 1977 when the New York Yankees won their first World Series since 1962 and their first under the ownership of George Steinbrenner, a.k.a. "The Boss." Thurman Munson, Graig Nettles and the newly acquired Reggie Jackson led the charge offensively with 100-plus RBI apiece, while Ed Figueroa and Ron Guidry both notched 16 wins. Then, of course, Jackson earned the nickname “Mr. October” when he lit it up in the Fall Classic with a .450 average, 5 HR, 10 runs, 8 RBI and 3 walks, as the Bronx Bombers topped the Los Angeles Dodgers 4 games to 2. It was their second of three-straight pennants and first of back-to-back world championships. A dynasty was born.

Offered here is a 12-inch tall scale model of the Commissioner’s [World Series] Trophy that was presented to Pepsi-Cola after the Yankees won their title. Fashioned on a 7-inch diameter black base, the trophy has a gold-plated band that has printed in black “WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY Presented with appreciation to our friends at PEPSI-COLA by the NEW YORK YANKEES.” 26 bronze flagpoles topped with the names of each of the MLB teams (AL on the left starting with the Baltimore Orioles, NL on the right starting with the Atlanta Braves, in alphabetical order) from the base. Two World Series press pins representing the Dodgers and Yankees are fastened to the base. Inside the circle of mini flags sits a gold colored ring, anchored with a silver baseball and topped with a gold crown. This trophy is in good condition.
