Boston Red Sox right-handed pitcher Reggie Cleveland’s 1977 season saw him finish the season with an 11-8 record and a 4.26 ERA in 190.1 innings. Cleveland wore this home Red Sox jersey during the 1977 season. This jersey features “RED SOX” in Tuscan font sewn on across the chest in red and navy tackle twill. This jersey was manufactured by McAuliffe Uniform Corp of Brockton, Massachusetts and the manufacturer’s tag, along with a “42” tag is sewn on the inside back collar. A “1977” and washing instructions tag are sewn at the bottom front center tail. Cleveland’s number “26” is sewn on the back in McAuliffe font in red and navy tackle twill. The collar has a red/navy/red pattern. Cleveland signed his name in blue marker on the upper right chest above “RED”. This jersey displays moderate to heavy use with the jersey taking on an off-white almost gray color due to age and extra recycling in the minor leagues. The tackle twill letters and numbers display wear and loose stitching. The knit pullover style jerseys are showing increased popularity, as the rarity, relative to modern jerseys, is being recognized. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for the game use and a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
