The Navegantes del Magallanes – an entry in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League – are the oldest sports team in Venezuela, and a very successful one at that. The team has won 12 LVBP championships (the league is known in Spanish as Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional), most recently in 2014. The league’s champion also represents the nation in the Caribbean World Series. In 1979, the Magallanes, after winning the LVBP, went on to win their second Caribbean Series (also winning in 1970).
Presented here is a 1978-79 Navegantes del Magallanes Venezuela Baseball league championship ring, featuring a beautiful dark blue center stone. Around the bezel setting reads “MAGALLANES B.B.C. CAMPEON 1978-79 DE VENEZUELA Y DEL CARIBE”. One side of this sterling silver ring is centered by the team’s logo, with the year “78” appearing at the top. The opposite side displays the year “79” above a detailed crest. The inside of the band of this approximate size 8 ½ ring is engraved “E.D.”. This item weighs approximately 21.7 grams. This ring comes with the consignor's purchase LOA.
