After being traded by the New York Yankees in 1975, Bobby Murcer was traded back to the Bronx in June of 1979 and he used this full home Yankees uniform for the remainder of that season with his new number “2” as manager Billy Martin occupied number “1”. The Wilson size 42 pinstripe button-down knit jersey features the Yankees interlocking NY sewn on in navy tackle twill on the upper left chest and Murcer’s “2” sewn on the back. There is also a black armband on the left sleeve to honor Thurman Munson, who tragically died in a plane crash on August 2, 1979. A "Murcer 79" tag is sewn on the inside of the jersey indicating the year and player and it displays moderate to heavy use. Murcer signed and inscribed this jersey "79 Game Used" in bold blue marker below the Yankees' crest. The Wilson size 34 knit pants were also used by Murcer that season and the tag sewn on the inside waist is labeled "Murcer 79 2 23". The full uniform comes with a LOA from Mears, who have rated this uniform a perfect A10. Murcer’s signature comes with a COA from Steiner Sports and the pants come with an additional LOA from Steiner.
