Presented is a 1979 Lou Holtz KJVP Coach of the Year Plaque. The brown wood plaque is carved in the shape of the state of Arkansas, and features black edges, a red metal border around a gold medal plaque, and a gold metal figure of a football coach with a whistle in his left hand and a football tucked in with his right hand. The plaque bears the legend "1979 KJVP Coach-of-the-Year Lou Holtz". After two successful college football stints as head coach at first William & Mary and then North Carolina State, followed by a short tenure as head coach of the New York Jets of the NFL, Holtz returned to college football at Arkanas, where he was the Razorbacks head coach for seven seasons. Holtz led Arkansas to a 10–2 record in 1979 and a share of the SWC championship, and a 9-2-1 record in 1982 with a Bluebonnet Bowl victory over Florida. This item comes with a LOA from Lou Holtz, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of this item will benefit the Holtz Charitable Foundation, Inc.
