“The Kid” was a perennial all star catcher who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003. This cracked 35 inch, 32.4 ounce model Louisville Slugger P89 model bat was used by Carter during the 1980-83 reference period as indicated by factory ordering records and his player use characteristics. The barrel contains several ball marks and stitch impressions, with various spike impressions and red shoe polish. The cracked handle has moderate pine tar up and down, and Carter’s number “8” appears on knob in black marker. This is a great early bat from Gary Carter during the beginning peak of his Hall of Fame career. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number 1B04785.
